Flea Prevention and Treatment

We recommend Activyl® for flea treatment on dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, as it is certainly considered and proven to be the most effective and safest flea product for dogs, cats, pups and kittens. It's 100% effective, and for the entire month!

Dogs, cats and their owners all want something that's really effective at getting rid of fleas! Now you have Activyl - a highly effective innovation in flea treatment that works through bioactivation - a mode of action that uses enzymes inside the flea to activate Activyl's full flea-killing power.

Activyl is non-toxic to cats and dogs and ONLY becomes toxic to fleas after they contact it and a fraction of it has (immediately) been absorbed.

Activyl is the first monthly spot-on to contain indoxacarb, an agent designed as a pro-insecticide. It works differently than other flea-control insecticides, killing adult fleas and breaking the flea life cycle.

Activyl can be used on cats and dogs from as young as 8 weeks of age.

All pets that have had their Heartworm once-a-year Proheart Injection at the Findon Vet Surgery receive (well … their owners!) a heavily discounted price on their Activyl as part of our encouragement of pet parasite control.

We have found, as have many pet owners in many areas, that other spot-on monthly flea treatments are not working as well anymore. Often their effect is deminished by 2.5 to 3 weeks after application, and fleas are able to still bite and feed before eventually dying after 2-3 days. In the mean time they have still caused itching / irritation, and allergic reactions in flea allergy dermatitis dogs and cats.

Also Activyl can be purchased as a single dose. This very useful for fast growing puppies!

We are experienced in managing flea problems, including flea dermatitis (flea allergy dermatitis) in Adelaide's western suburbs, including Fulham Gardens, Henley Beach, Grange, Fulham, Lockleys, Seaton, Royal Park, Underdale, Torrensville, Brooklyn Park, Woodville Gardens, Fullham Gardens, Allenby Gardens, Welland, Beverley, Kidman Park, Flinders Park, West Croydon, Woodville, Royal Park, Hendon and Tennyson.
